Alpaca
Balmuir alpaca products are made of durable and soft alpaca wool. Fiber that is 19-21 micron is called baby alpaca. Baby alpaca fibers are hollow, so the wool is extremely light and has a great thermal insulation. Because of this, baby alpaca is five times warmer than regular wool. Baby alpaca is also very elastic and will not crease.
BMuir knits and Grace accessories made of alpaca and fine merino wool are soft and warm. The alpaca wool comes from alpaca grown in Peru. The merino wool comes from Australia. Merino wool comes from non-mulesed sheep and it is certified according to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). Elastane and polyamid has been added to the yarn for a better recovery and durability of the material.
Balmuir recommends taking good care of your alpaca knitwear and airing them out regularly. The knitwear can be gently washed by hand using a small amount of wool detergent. Please remember, that alpaca products should be reshaped moist and dried on a flat surface.
